Audi earned the number one spot in a new rating of ‘best practices’ of all automakers’ advertising from last year.
Phoenix Marketing International, based out of Detroit, rated automakers on different metrics, including whether ads were clear and believable and if the ads performed well regardless of their audience. The marketing firm collected and calculated data from more than 750 unique television and print ads, as well as over 148,000 consumer evaluations.
In addition to Audi enthusiasts, Audi’s advertising also struck a chord with non-luxury car owners. Those questioned favor engaging ads that they find “humorous, clever, entertaining, and unique,” such as the Audi Super Bowl ad earlier this year that featured vampires being vanquished by the light eluding from the Audi S7’s LED headlamps.
