This week at the Beijing Motor Show, Audi unveiled the A6 L e-tron Concept, a plug-in hybrid that provides a long wheelbase version of Audi’s best-selling A6 model.
The long wheelbase creates extra legroom for passengers in the back seat of the vehicle. The exterior of the vehicle is donned with 21-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels and a fresh chrome grille to differentiate the L e-tron from the standard A6 model. A bespoke rear bumper and exhaust system also provide differences between the two.
Audi has previously said the long wheelbase model is designed primarily for the Chinese market, so it’s possible the A6 L e-tron model may not make it to the US. However, the plug-in powertrain gives good clues to the next generation Audi hybrids.
